We had POURING RAIN on last Sunday for Bible Class and Morning Worship and we loved it!!! The rain didn’t dampen the spirits at the Beckley Heights church of Christ. We thanked God for the rain (Deut. 28:12; Matt. 5:45; Acts 14:17). We helped one another inside, dried one another off, and then greeted one another with affection and beaming smiles as though the sun was brightly shining because the SON of God was shining thru his people. “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me…” (Gal. 2:20; cf. Matt. 5:16). It got even brighter when we opened God’s word together!
Homosexuality is Not a Civil Rights Issue
One is born a certain ethnicity (Asian, Black, Spanish, White, etc.) WITHOUT A CHOICE, but one’s sexual behavior is a CHOICE. No one born that they must engage in sensual deviant behavior (rape, fornication, adultery, incest, bestiality, prostitution, pedophilia, or homosexuality/LGBT=Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender). These are carnal acts motivated by carnal desires. They are NOT what a person is. That’s why homosexuality as a civil rights movement is a joke at best. They already have rights as people/citizens. But they want protection for perverse behavior and the right to advance it as wholesome. Homosexuality is a horrible sin against God condemned throughout the whole bible. See for yourself (Gen. 13:13; 19:1-13, 24-25; Lev. 18:22; 20:13; Deut. 23:17; Rom. 1:24-27; 1 Tim. 1:10). There are faithful Christians who used to engage in homosexuality but gave it up to serve the Lord (1 Cor. 6:9-11). All people of the LGBT community should do likewise. “Only let your conversation (life) be as it becometh the gospel of Christ” (Phil. 1:27).
Notice how it was right for homosexuality to stop. “And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the Lord cast out before the children of Israel” (1 Kg. 14:24). “And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the Lord, as did David his father. And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made” (15:11-12). “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope” (Rom. 15:4).
“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people” (Pr. 14:34). Homosexuality is sin (1 John 3:4), which is unrighteousness (5:17), therefore, it is a detriment to any society.
