It is such a blessing to be a Christian! Thank God, we have been rescued from the ocean of sin. God’s offer of salvation is rejected by most because they see no need and in turn they give him the proverbial “slap in the face.” They refuse eternal salvation from the Savior as though they have no need. But, we know better. Eternal salvation is the primary essential of the whole human race. It should be appreciated like nothing else. Could you imagine being in the middle of an angry ocean as pitching waves relentless struck your face? The sky is ominously dark and the wind is boisterous. It takes all of your energy to fight the waves as you struggle for every breath. You find it impossible not to swallow some of the water as you thrash for your life. Your body is numb with cold and every muscle screams for rest. You know it is just a matter of time because you cannot swim forever. While treading the water all seems lost as there is no hope in sight. No plane, no boat, no buoy, no land—nothing but deep ocean in every direction. Realizing the inevitable, that this is it, you began thinking about your family. Thoughts that you may never see them again bring a choking sob. Tears indiscriminately mixed with sea mist adorn your hopeless face of despair. The time has come to just give up and let nature take its course. But just before the moment of surrender, you hear the voice of a savior, “Grab the life line!”  What will you do?  Grab hold of the lifeline or reject it? The Savior is calling right now, “Come unto me…” (Matt.11:28-30). The gospel lifeline has been thrown (Mark 16:15; Rom. 1:16; 2 Thess. 2:14; 2 Tim. 1:9-10). Grab hold of salvation today (2 Cor. 6:2; Heb. 5:9).
