The Christian who begins to give ten percent of his income or more (we have so many more blessings than the Jew under the Law) will have at least six surprises. He will be surprised:
1. At the amount of money he has for the Lord’s work.
2. At the deepening of his spiritual life in generous giving.
3. At the ease in meeting his own obligations with the eight or nine-tenths he has left.
4. At the ease in sacrificing to give even more than he pledged.
5. At the preparation this spirit gives him to be a faithful and wise steward over the money he keeps.
6. At himself for not adopting such a systematic plan of giving sooner.
